Global esports and entertainment company, Misfits Gaming Group (MGG) took to twitter to announce its partnership with Tezos, a blockchain platform.
The deal includes marquee branding, sponsorship rights and integrated business practices.
Tezos will help MGG create Block Born, a blockchain based gaming platform. It will launch crypto games, host tournaments, and sign professional players. The platform will focus on community building and growing the blockchain gaming space.
“At such an exciting time for the broader gaming and esports industries, Misfits Gaming Group’s choice of Tezos as its official blockchain adds to the momentum that is growing for blockchain gaming— with community building and player engagement as a priority.”, added Mason Edwards, Chief of Staff, Tezos Foundation.
The deal also includes rebranding of MGG’s $10 million MSF/IO gaming incubator program as the MSF Tezos Incubator Hub. The initiative will focus on esports and gaming startups, as well as startups building on the Tezos blockchain.
Vas Roberts, EVP Partnerships, of Misfits Gaming Group, said, “Tezos will help us share new levels of access, equity, and decision-making, and we’re thrilled to pioneer how blockchain can help gaming organizations redefine how they operate.”
Block Born will also partner with Snickerdoodle Labs for an on-chain analytics model that shows how the raised funds are being used in each project for the game development process.
Esports organization, Vitality announced a three year partnership with Tezos just a few months ago. This is a major win for Tezos as it becomes home to two major esports companies in a span of just a few months.
