Day by day, more and more NFT-related announcements are coming from Television shows. On Monday, Mila Kunis’ Sixth Wall production company announced “The Gimmicks”, which is an animated wrestling show.
The show contains the adult series “South Park meets WWE,” which follows a group of washed-up former wrestlers’ characters. These characters are voiced by World Wrestling Entertainment stars Luke “Doc” Gallows, Karl “Machine Gun” Anderson, and Rocky Romero.
In this show, NFT will be used as a “choose your own adventure” component by the show’s NFT holders. Using this NFT, they will be able to vote to direct the end of each episode.
The NFT sale will start on March 18 on the official website and will be available to mint free on the Solana blockchain.
“I see the tech and community that comes with NFTs and Web 3 allowing for the audience to directly communicate with and inform creators of what they like and what they don’t,” Kunis stated in an interview. “There is space for traditional film and television development as well as this more wild west fun chaos that comes along with developing in Web 3.”
The series is written by Dave Ihlenfeld and David Wright, who worked in previous superhit animated movies Family Guy and The Simpsons. To make animated avatars, Mila Kunis’ Sixth Wall has joined hands with Toonstar, a Web 3 animation studio.
After seeing the potential future of non-fungible tokens in the Web 3 revolution, many sectors are gearing up to find new use cases of NFTs for their projects. Recently, the television network AMC joined hands with Orange Comet to create ‘The Walking Dead’ NFTs.
