The Sandbox welcomes its first ever global bank partner, HSBC. The partnership will open up a host of opportunities for engagement between financial service providers and sporting communities.
“Through our partnership with The Sandbox we are making our foray into the metaverse, allowing us to create innovative brand experiences for new and existing customers.”, said Suresh Balaji, CMO, Asia-Pacific, HSBC.
HSBC will buy a plot of digital land in Sandbox, called LAND, which will be further developed to engage with gaming, esports and sports enthusiasts.
“We’re pleased to see large, trusted institutions such as HSBC join The Sandbox open metaverse and embrace the culture of Web3, connecting with users through entertainment, gaming and user-generated content.”, announced Sebastien Borget, COO and Co-founder of The Sandbox.
Sandbox also declared the ambitious partnership on Twitter. However, details of the collaboration have not been announced yet.
Sandbox is already home to global giants such as Gucci, Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, Steve Aoki, Ubisoft, Atari, Warner Music, Cube and 200 other notable names.
HSBC is not the first banking giant to enter the metaverse. JP Morgan leads the path with a virtual lounge in Decentraland, announced in February 2022.
