Korver, commonly known as the ‘crypto czar,’ is a firm believer in the potential and importance of web3 technology, as well as an unwavering commitment to clearing out fraudulent actors.
In a16z, Korver would work with web3 initiatives to assist them to prosper in a fast-changing regulatory environment. Korver added, “a16z crypto was an early supporter of crypto and web3, and I’ve long admired their team and the visionary entrepreneurs they’ve backed.”
She is now on a break and will join the a16z crypto team in April. The community is looking forward to what new ideas she will bring to the table.
Katie Haun, the first female general partner of a16z, left the firm in December to start her own crypto&Web3 focused fund. Haun also, like Michele Korver, worked as a prosecutor for the US Justice Department for over a decade, where she served as the department’s first digital currency coordinator.
