The digital payments giant Visa is looking to hire undergraduate students for its crypto development program so as to build a “fully fluent cryptocurrency team.”
As per the hiring announcement, the crypto development program will be an 18-month rotational development experience.
Those who are hired as part of a program will rotate among teams such as “Crypto Product, Crypto Solutions, and Digital Partnerships.” They’ll be tasked with developing expertise in decentralized finance(Defi), NFTs, stablecoins, and CBDCs, among other things.
They will also get to learn how cryptocurrency firms work, how to develop new product partnerships, the consequences of Visa rules, and how crypto firms can use existing Visa products.
Additionally, the hired students would also get to study how Visa works, develop ties with day-to-day contacts at significant crypto and fintech firms, and get knowledge of emerging Fintech business models and trends and how they relate to crypto.
This role needs permanent authorization to work in the United States as a mandatory requirement. In connection with this role, Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Computer Science, or a related field is mostly preferred for this position. This role will be performed in an office setting and requires traveling 5-10% of the time.
This is not Visa’s first advance into the crypto industry. In December 2021 Visa launched a global crypto advisory unit designed to help clients and partners advance their crypto business. The consulting services are also assisting in the development of concrete initiatives, pilot new customer experiences.
