The global musician and billionaire businesswoman Rihanna is the latest celebrity to dive into the metaverse realm.
According to a Boardroom report, Rihanna seeks to expand her ‘FENTY’ brand into the metaverse as confirmed by licensed trademark attorney Josh Gerben.
The fashion mogul’s trademark applications include the rights to sell downloaded virtual items for use in online virtual worlds, such as makeup and hair accessories, skincare preparations, soaps, and perfumes.
It also covers retail shop services, such as virtual merchandise and goods for online use. The trademark also includes non-downloadable virtual goods, providing online non-downloadable software featuring NFTs or other digital tokens based on blockchain technology.
Right now Rihanna is planning an IPO for Savage X Fenty, which is expected to be worth $3 billion.
Another popular singer and youth icon who hopped into the metaverse bandwagon recently is 7-times Grammy award winner Billie Eilish who filed trademark applications, one for her name and one for the Blohsh logo. This move allows her fans to purchase her downloadable digital media created with blockchain-based technology, etc.
