Ellen DeGeneres becomes the first talk show host to bring a NFT band on primetime television. The Milkyway Pirates NFT band led by the female recording artist, Kiesza, performed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The NFT band was able to move with a multi-chain emote technology called MetaMoves. They are interoperable dance moves, or emotes that pay royalties to their creators.
“The Milkyway Pirates is an ambitious project that aims to set world records to innovate in music, blockchain, and space exploration,” said Kiesza.
Each NFT in the Milkyway Pirate collection is crafted by world renowned NFT artist, Luke Didlo. 10 NFT avatars of the Milkyway Pirate generative fine art NFT collection were equipped with metaverse emotes. They were launched in partnership with Metamoves and the QGlobe launchpad.
The Milkyway Pirates are the first smart NFTs that go beyond exciting utility, but set a record for the dance emote technology and television appearance.
Using MetaMoves “all members are able to bring to life their digital avatars through custom Motion Capture.” QGlobe on the other hand is a launchpad and accelerator for blockchain game projects.
This is, however, not the first time that NFTs have appeared on television. Paris Hilton revealed her first NFT collection “Forever Fairytale” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and even went as far as gifting some of the NFTs to the audience. She also expressed her views on the metaverse saying it is the “future of partying, going out, interacting with people, and being social.”
