Makers of the popular online game PUBG, Krafton Labs, announced the signing of a business deal with Solana Labs for designing and marketing of blockchain based games.
The press release dated Wednesday reveals that through this agreement, both KRAFTON and Solana Labs are gearing to build a long-term mutual relationship for the development and operation of blockchain and NFT-backed games and services.
Along with the marketing and designing of blockchain games and various blockchain technologies, the companies will jointly work towards various investment opportunities.
“KRAFTON will continuously see ways to work closely with blockchain companies like Solana Labs as we work toward establishing our Web 3.0 ecosystem,” said Hyungchul Park, Lead of Web 3.0 Roundtable at KRAFTON.
This agreement yet again testifies KRAFTON’s commitment to explore new business opportunities in 2022. In February, the firm had signed an MOU with Naver Z and acquired an equity stake in Seoul Auction Blue and XBYBLUE to curate NFT and create a metaverse experience.
Johnny Lee, Head of Games Business Development at Solana Labs commented, “KRAFTON is an established innovator in the games industry and we are excited to be part of their next level up. We are seeing gamers increasingly seek out on-chain games and gaming companies who respond quickly to this demand will set themselves up well for ongoing success.”
As for Solana, it is a decentralised blockchain built to support scalable, user-friendly apps for the world.
