An NFT collection ‘the littles’, which was inspired by a Vancouver based couple- Wilson Lee and Cass Chan’s two-year-old daughter, will be the first in Canada to be featured in an original children’s series.
As per reports, the super feature is a part of a new partnership announced by TIME Studios.
In Brief:
- ‘the littles’ collection has made more than $40 million in secondary sales.
- The collection was inspired by their daughter and the characters are based on her favourite animal -bears.
- The founders also look forward to creating the first interoperable skins-and-tokens-gaming experience in the Metaverse.
After having sold out in less than two minutes of the launch, the NFT collection caught the eyes of the Emmy Award-winning studio. This collection would be TIME Studio’s fourth NFT-based project and the studio’s latest animated series would be based on the littles’ characters.
For the uninitiated, the NFT project focuses on value-centric messages of fun, inclusion, and humility. With its NFTs backed on Ethereum blockchain, the littles collection has made more than $40 million in secondary sales.
Last year, in December, the couple donated $100,000 of the collection sales to the BC Children’s Hospital to support Canada’s first pediatric thalassemia registry. The cause was inspired by their daughter, who has a variant of thalassemia which is an inherited blood disorder that causes the body to create less hemoglobin.
On the huge break, Wilson Lee, founder of the littles said “We’re excited to continue reaching new audiences and be able to tell stories through NFTs, not just in Vancouver and across Canada but also with the world.”
Furthermore, the founders hope to create the first interoperable skins-and-tokens gaming experience in the Metaverse through their web-based game platform, 1Up-Arcade.
Lee stated their further plans saying that they would want to become the ‘inflection point’ for huge partners within the Metaverse, including top NFT projects such as Cyberkongz, Supducks, KaijuKingz, and Coolcats.
Chan Lee will soon be seen as a speaker at the upcoming VeeCon, an NFT conference hosted by Gary Vaynerchuk.
Well, NFT collections have been grabbing a lot of eyeballs in the Hollywood production circuit of late. Another instance being Reese Witherspoon’s media production company, Hello Sunshine that recently roped in World of Women (WoW) to expand the universe of WoW’s NFTs into film/show adaptations.
