The popular NFT music Platform, Royal has roped in Grammy-winning musician Diplo for his new single, “Don’t Forget My Love,” which will be dropped as a non-fungible token (NFT).
The single, “Don’t Forget My Love,” will have its royalty rights attached to “Limited Digital Assets (LDA),” which are essentially Polygon-based NFTs.
Thus, when one owns a token, he/she also get access to exclusive content and other benefits, which depends on the tier purchased.
Royal, founded by DJ Justin Blau introduced Blockchain and NFTs into the music Industry and decentralised the authority from major record Labels. It has had collaborations with top Rapper Nas also. Its growing popularity can be traced with the fact that it raised $55M in a Series A funding round led by Andressen Horowitz.
DJ Justin Blau said, “Diplo is a cultural leader and innovator who always pushes boundaries. We’re incredibly stoked that his fans will have the opportunity to own a piece of his music.”
He further added that this drop illustrates a real, mainstream application for blockchain technology, and the use cases transcend beyond independent and enthusiast communities.
The NFT collection has 2,110 LDA tokens, which will be dropped on March 29 at 6p.m. ET. The token’s three tiers represent different percentages of ownership, with gold being the cheapest and includes 2,000 tokens.
Gold tier being the cheapest for $99 gives its owner 0.004% of the song’s streaming royalties. Platinum tier includes 100 tokens for $999 with 0.7% royalties for its owner.
Diamond tier includes 10 tokens for $9,999 with perks like access to Diplo’s guest list at a show of choice including a meet and greet with Diplo. And first dibs on all future Diplo drops on Royal
