The World of Women Galaxy NFT collection, the second collection from the World of Women team, affirmed its hype by getting quickly sold out upon its launch.
The idea behind the WoW Galaxy NFT collection is that when the World of Women NFTs cross the portal for time travel, they would undergo a transformation. Then they turn into WoW Galaxy NFTs from the Nova Gaïa planet. The WoWs undergoing the evolution to WoWG get to keep their origin.
The team announced the launch of the WoW Galaxy on March 11th, with only a few details revealed. Yam Karkai, the creator of WoW, is also the artist behind the WoW Galaxy collection, and she is enthralled with the attention the artwork is receiving.
Free minting for World of Women holders began on March 26 at 11 a.m. PST. For each WoW NFT they own, holders will be entitled to claim one free WoW Galaxy NFT. For WoW holders, however, there is no time limit on making a claim. The minting took place on a special claim page on the official WoW website.
The public sale began at 1 p.m. PST on March 26. In this Dutch auction-style sale, a total of 10,000 WoW Galaxy NFTs were available for purchase. The bidding process begins at a fixed price and gradually decreases over time.
According to the WoW team, this will help prevent gas wars by enabling the market price to be determined by the people. The starting price for the public sale was 3 ETH. A small portion of the NFT Twitter community did seem unhappy about this price while a few others claimed that WoW’s brand does have that much value.
The minting session for the allowlist spot winners started after the public sale. A total of 2,222 WoW Galaxy NFTs were mintable at a fixed price of 0.3 ETH. The allowlist spots were filled before the launch.
There are also ‘Champions and Guardians’ 1/1 NFTs that are a part of the WoW Galaxy collection. These artworks are individually drawn by Yam K and are not generated.
The existing 8 Champions will be discovered by WoW holders, whereas the 8 Guardians were set to be found during the public sale and allowlist. After the portal has opened, they will be revealed one at a time, progressively.
One of the Guardian NFT was acquired for 50 ETH by a user upon its reveal, whereas the previous two owners of the NFT sold it in a haste for 1.63 ETH and 8 ETH respectively. Only 0.04% of the collection are Guardians.
The WoW Galaxy collection is now available on OpenSea as its secondary marketplace. At the time of writing the floor price is 1.569 ETH with 16.5K ETH volume traded.
One of the collectors of WoW Galaxy NFT is the one and only Snoop Dogg aka Cozomo de’ Medici. He is the owner of WoWG #4045 characterized by a cool blue skin tone with Turquoise facial features, Flame Right Eyes, Rainbow Steel Earrings, and Yellow Curl hair sporting a Bomber Jacket.
The WoW Foundation gets 10% of WoW Galaxy primary sales earnings and 25% of secondary sales royalties. 50% from this allocation will be moved towards Code Green charity, meaning 5% of primary and 0.5% of secondary sales is set for Code Green.
World of Women Galaxy even topped the last 24 hours trading volume on OpenSea beating out BAYC and MAYC.
