The maker of the well-known, iconic multi-platform crypto dedicated browser Opera Software, announced in a press release that it will add support for a number of major blockchain ecosystems and decentralized apps (dApps) on its crypto-native Web3 browser.
In Brief:
- Eight blockchain networks include Solana, Polygon, StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos, IXO, and Bitcoin.
- Opera’s crypto browser will have access to Polygon and its dApps while other blockchain networks will be integrated soon.
- This integration extends access to PoS chains, NFT marketplaces, gaming, and music streaming apps.
Due to this crypto-native and crypto-curious Opera users can benefit from an extensive ecosystem of Polygon or Solana dApps.
Solana, Polygon, StarkEx, Ronin, Celo, Nervos, IXO, and Bitcoin will be the eight blockchain ecosystems taking over the Web3 browser which already has a feature for a built-in crypto wallet.
Because these 8 blockchains will join the Ethereum-based browser, it enables users to also benefit from efficient, ultra-low-cost transactions that are more than 100 times faster and less expensive than transactions on the Ethereum mainnet.
At the end of last year, Opera had announced a partnership with Polygon to integrate its dApps. So, Opera’s Crypto Browser Project on Android and PC along with Opera for Android can now access Polygon and Polygon dapps currently.Â
The Web3 browser company will integrate with the rest of the ecosystems in the coming months.
Opera’s support for Polygon introduces users to over 7,000 dApps, including popular gaming apps Sandbox, Decentraland, and Aavegotchi.
The current launch also allows for a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) chain. Once assets are sent to the Polygon PoS, the carbon impact for asset minting and transferring is virtually negligible.
Additionally, Solana dapps will be integrated, including decentralized exchanges (DEXs) like Solend and Raydium, NFT marketplaces, and music streaming apps.
Users will have to connect through the Phantom wallet for the time being while Opera works with the Solana ecosystem to integrate the Wallet.
Opera users are also rewarded with Layer 2 DeFi through StarkWare (which is also a PoS chain) – that powers DiversiFi which it integrated last month to enable them to transact ETH through P2P transactions.
