The Gemini-owned NFT marketplace Nifty Gateway announced a partnership with Samsung Electronics. The collaboration is meant to develop the first-ever smart TV NFT platform for exploring, buying, and trading digital art and collectibles.
According to the press release, “Leveraging Samsung’s and Nifty Gateway’s technology, customers can seamlessly browse, display, and interact with NFTs from the comfort of their couch.”
At the CES trade exhibition in January, Samsung first disclosed plans to include NFT technology in its new TVs, calling it the “the world’s first TV screen-based NFT explorer and marketplace aggregator.”
Samsung’s NFT platform is now integrated with Nifty Gateway in their 2022 premium TV product lines, including QLED and Neo QLED TV. Owners of Samsung’s The Frame and Micro LED sets can download the Nifty Gateway app to gain access.
With this partnership, customers will be able to mint verified NFTs via Nifty Gateway to guarantee that they get quality material. Through Nifty Gateway’s custody option users can store their NFTs in the NG Omnibus wallet.
Users will be able to use debit cards, credit cards, or cryptocurrencies to make the payments. They will also get access to over 6,000 works of art by new and established artists such as Beeple, XCOPY, Pak, etc.
Among them Pak’s Merge NFT drop on Nifty Gateway collected $91.8 million in just 48 hours. Just a few days back XCOPY’s MAX PAIN open edition NFT collected $23M worth of sales.
Duncan Cock Foster, co-founder, Nifty Gateway, stated “With our mission in mind, we couldn’t be more excited to partner with Samsung to develop a groundbreaking NFT collecting experience. Their dedication to user experience and focus on the highest quality displays aligns perfectly with our vision to allow anyone, anywhere, to interact with their favorite creators.”
