Wallet and trading platform for cryptocurrencies Blockchain.com announced that it will integrate the full suite of Unstoppable Domains extensions for its 81 million wallets, allowing them to “not only send and receive crypto but also navigate through Web3.”
The reason for this per the announcement is to simplify Web3 onboarding which is already too complicated. It is aimed to make crypto easier to use and accessible for everyone.
Unstoppable Domains facilitates buying a decentralized domain name that is minted as an NFT on the Ethereum blockchain, i.e. domain names that translate into wallet addresses using NFTs.
Currently nstoppable Domains offers ten domain name extensions, namely .coin, .crypto, .dao, .nft, .wallet, .x, .zil, .888. , and .blockchain which is coming soon.
So Blockchain.com users can now send cryptocurrency to all domains, removing the possibility of user error and avoiding the need to remember difficult-to-remember alphanumeric wallet addresses.
Amadeo Pellicce, Senior Product Manager, Blockchain.com said, “Replacing complicated addresses with human-readable domains on Blockchain.com allows users to send and receive crypto as easily as sending an email, and we’re excited to now support every Unstoppable Domain.”
Sandy Carter, SVP, Unstoppable Domains, “With millions of people using Blockchain.com Wallet in more than 200 countries every day, it’s partners like these who help make NFT domains and simple crypto payments more accessible to the next influx of users.”
Recently, the crypto wallet and the trading company closed a new funding round led by LighSpeed. Blockchain.com raised new funding, valuing the company at around $14 billion, more than doubling its previous valuation of $5.2 billion.
As for the Web3 platform Unstoppable Domains, it granted $10M for the “Unstoppable Women of Web3” initiative, which will be led by 70 leading Web2 and Web3 companies.
