The biggest cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced that it has hired former Microsoft and Agoda executives who will focus on making ‘Web3 services more accessible and usable to everyday people and driving innovation within the Binance ecosystem.’
Binance appointed Rohit Wad, former Corporate VP at Microsoft, as its CTO. And Mayur Kamat, former Agoda VP of Product, as the Head of Product.
Rohit Wad will be in charge of developing Web3 services and solutions that are scalable, compliant, and quick. He’ll also be in charge of maintaining the exchange’s security, stability, and liquidity while adhering to the constant changes in regulatory compliance requirements in all of the areas where the platform is offered.
Wad will also concentrate on considerably expanding the engineering team in order to speed the company’s progress. He worked as an Engineering Director at Facebook and Google before joining Microsoft and Binance.
Wad stated “We are working on many Web3 experiences and solutions that will be transformative to billions of people, starting with the freedom of money. I Am excited to be able to bring the amazing advances and potential of Web3 technology to everyone.”
Mayur Kamat will be in charge of the whole product strategy, roadmap, and development for Binance. He will lead the team in developing products that will increase crypto acceptance and lessen the entry barrier to Web3 technology.
Kamat led the product team that developed Gmail for mobile, Android for Work, Hangouts, Google Voice, and Windows DRM.
He stated “Our goal is to bring the benefits of Web3 technology to the masses by making the product simple enough that anyone in the world can use them, including those who are new to it. I am humbled to play a small part in providing financial freedom and supporting inclusion to billions of people.”
As part of the Web3 development and expansion, Binance recently revealed an updated Binance Bridge 2.0 that connects centralized finance with decentralized finance. The bridge allows crypto holders to transfer any digital assets from the Ethereum blockchain to BNB Chain including non-listed tokens on Binance.
