The three-time NBA champion Klay Thompson is all set to launch ‘Game Recognize Game’ NFT Pack in partnership with NBA Top Shot with a 941 theme, celebrating his return to the league after 941 days upon suffering two career-altering injuries.
In Brief:
- The 941-themed Game Recognize Game NFT is dropping on April 7th, 12 pm PDT.
- A lucky winner will be given the chance to win Klay Thompson’s comeback game-worn sneakers.
- $94,100 from the proceeds will go towards the Thompson’s family’s 941 Project foundation.
The NFT packs will include moments from NBA players like Derrick Rose, Paul George, Draymond Green, DeMarcus Cousins, Zach LaVine, and Gordon Hayward, who have all undergone chronic injuries yet have persevered in the NBA thanks to effort and perseverance.
The Golden State Warriors player not only curated the six moments that will be featured in this second edition of the GRG collection, but he will also narrate each of the moments. The pack will be released at 12 p.m. PDT on April 7th.
This drop will have 50,000 packs available in total each priced at $19. One guaranteed GRG moment and three series Base Set moments will be included in each bundle.
Each new GRG moment will be issued in a 10,000-piece Common Limited Edition run. There will be 4,000-60,000 editions for the Base Set moments.
There will be no necessity for a collector score in this bundle. Each collector will be restricted to one pack per purchase, with the ability to rejoin the queue as long as supplies last.
A lucky winner will be offered the chance to win a pair of Thompson’s signed game-worn sneakers, specifically from his comeback on January 9, 2022, where the Golden State Warriors won over Cleveland for 96-82.
You only need to create an NBA Top Shot account and you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win Klay’s game-worn shoes.
It is not necessary to make an NFT purchase in order to participate or win and buying the packs doesn’t improve your chances of winning.
Holders will be rewarded through an airdrop of 1 pack for every complete set of Game Recognize Game and Got Game NFT.
Dapper Labs will also donate $94,100 to the 941 Project, which aims to “assist and support re-entry to the workplace for individuals from disadvantaged situations.”
The Thompson Family Foundation announced the 941 Project in early February, and Dapper Labs was named as one of the founding partners.
Just last month, Klay Thompson’s teammate Stephen Curry dropped a birthday cake-themed NFT to the holders of his 2974 NFT Collection as part of his 34th birthday celebration. Each NFT emphasized a specific made 3-pointer and game date spanning his 12-year career.
