The NFT platform Autograph co-founded by Tom Brady, signed a multi-year deal with ESPN. The collaboration kicks off with an NFT collection based on a 10-part ESPN+ documentary series called “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady.”
The documentary depicts the key moments of the NFL legend’s career. The series is produced by Religion of Sports, a media company in which Tom Brady is also a co-founder.
Autograph and Religion of Sports designed the “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady Collection” which will be released as ESPN’s first series of NFT collectibles. It is a #/100 “Tom Brady: Legacy” collection.
The documentary is available to subscribers across the Disney streaming bundle – ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+ while the NFT collection can be viewed on Autograph.io and for sale on DraftKings Marketplace.
The collection has three magazine covers from ESPN’s special edition December issue including 14 stories that ESPN has written on Tom Brady. Fifty editions of those NFT covers will be signed by Brady.
ESPN also plans to drop a second NFT collection called “Back in the Arena” once the tenth and last episode of documentaries airs.
Co-founder and chief executive officer at Autograph, Dillon Rosenblatt commented that together with ESPN, the possibilities across technology and sports are endless, and we couldn’t be more excited to get this content out to the world in a massive way.
As soon as the news broke out, die-hard Tom Brady fans couldn’t resist themselves from his new show and NFT collection. NFT has truly become the medium for athletes to highlight accomplishments by minting their successes on the blockchain.
Tom Brady has recently stated that his NFT marketplace Autograph wouldn’t have been possible if not for people like Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder. Surprisingly, Vitalik in his recent blog post has sarcastically praised Bitcoin Maximalists as an April fool prank at its best. The crypto community is surely wild and unpredictable!
