The owner of Jack Dorsey’s first tweet NFT has placed it for sale for a stunning $48 million, gaining widespread attention. The amount is 16 times higher than what the owner paid a year ago during the mint.
The chief executive officer of the Malaysian blockchain service Bridge Oracle, Sina Estavi revealed on Twitter that he has created an offer to sell the NFT for 14,969 ETH that features the first tweet of Jack Dorsey written in “just setting up my twttr”. This NFT was acquired last year after paying $2.9 million in March.
At the time of writing, this listed NFT shows no offerings on Opensea. The sale will end on April 13, 2022, at 7:47 AM IST.
Estavi also commented in another tweet that 50% of proceeds generated from the sale will be donated to the charity ‘Give Directly’. The charity works to help people living in poverty. Jack Dorsey also raised donations for this charity after his tweet’s first NFT sale.
Jack Dorsey had also responded to his tweet and asked to donate 99% of the total proceeds to charity.
Sina Estavi replied to Dorsey’s idea, stating that he wants to use 50% of the funds for a blockchain project and help his “people”. Although, he has given thought to Dorsey’s idea and said “If you like, I would donate 100% of it to charity if you let me know.”
