South Indian singer Karthik will become the first Indian musician to launch music NFTs in the metaverse. The NFTs will be launched during an upcoming concert on Jupiter Meta, an Indian NFT marketplace.
“Doing something like this in the metaverse is beyond imagination. I’m really happy that fans get to experience this special moment and own my new songs!” said Karthik.
The concert will be hosted on April 14 and last for about 30 to 40 minutes.
Buying the concert pass gives the owner access to three bounties:
- A concert metaverse experience with Karthik. At the concert the artist will sing a few of his all-time hits from Tamil films. He is also going to sing a few of his own never-heard-before compositions.
- 2 music NFTs of original songs free of cost. The NFTs will be for the songs, “Madras Maharani” and “Kaisi Khumaari”.
- Buyers will also get a brand collectible for free.
Viewers can make certain gestures during the concert such as waving, clapping and raising your hands, sending emojis, and more.
Cryptocurrencies are not necessary to buy these concert passes. A single pass for the concert is priced at Rs. 29,000 and can be bought with credit cards, net banking, debit cards, and UPI options.
Manasa Rajan, CEO of Jupiter Meta said, “Music NFTs will give users a specific value and sense of ownership that cannot be replicated, while the concert will bridge the physical divide between artist and fan in a sense and open the doors for more personalized and meaningful conversations outside our reality.”
The Indian entertainment industry is slowly learning how to capitalize the metaverse and NFT industry. Recently, the much awaited upcoming South Indian film, KGF: Chapter 2 announced to release its metaverse “KGFVerse” and its avatars today. This will give fans of the movie a chance to get more involved in the whole experience thereby exponentially increasing the film franchise’s popularity.
