Hong Kong based Animoca Brands has acquired French gaming studio Eden Games from Engine Gaming & Media to develop and expand its metaverse.
Animoca Brands plans to use the studio’s experience to work on existing and new titles in the Revv Motorsport ecosystem. This acquisition will also result in the Sandbox creator developing a series of new blockchain-based racing games.
The new games will give players additional utility to the NFT Race Passes and other assets by swapping assets from Animoca Brands’ F1 Delta Time. The game ceased its operations in March 2022.
Eden Games is the creator of the award-winning racing games such as Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed, F1 Mobile Racing, and the franchises Gear.Club, Test Drive, and V-Rally. The studio develops these games compatible across mobile, PC and console platforms.
“With its quarter of a century of expertise in building high-quality motorsport video games, Eden Games will enhance and accelerate the development of the REVV Motorsport ecosystem and add powerful value to the REVV community and the racing metaverse”, said Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands.
Overall the acquisition will help Animoca Brands expand and broaden their metaverse gaming horizon. Animoca Brands is currently invested in more than 170 companies that develop NFT-related and decentralized projects, helping Animoca Brand expand its metaverse.
Even the famed BAYC creator Yuga Labs has partnered with Animoca Brands to launch a game on its platform.
Eden Games is a France based gaming studio, and is managed by two of its original co-founders, David Nadal and Jean-Yves Geffroy. The studio also has long term partnerships with more than 30 established brands in the automotive industry, including BMW, Bugatti, Porsche, Lotus, Pagani, and many others.
