Music Icon and advocate for Trans rights, Ariana Grande’s fundraiser, ‘Protect and Defend Trans Youth Fund’ has promised to match cryptocurrency donations up to $1.5 million by allowing crypto option.
The fund will help various LGBTQ organisations that support transgender youngsters and give direct services to trans youth currently targeted by anti-trans policies.
Pledge, a crowdfunding site, helps with seamless donations in all cryptocurrencies which are instantly converted to cash without ‘any contracts or monthly fees’.
For this purpose, Pledge has developed “PledgeCrypto” which collects crypto donations in over 130 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tether and then converts them to fiat money.
PledgeCrypto is a free, fully-integrated fiat and crypto donation platform that sends funds to reviewed non-profit organisations. No crypto proficiency or KYC verification is required.
Pledge CEO James Citron, noted that about 300 million people hold cryptos and are willing to use them to support causes that they care about.
Charity partners for Pledge Crypto include Worthy of Love, Big Brothers and Big Sisters LA, The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Los Angeles Streetcode Academy, CoachArt, Goodie Nation, and Taraji P Henson’s Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation and Safe Place for Youth.
Pledge also takes care of the environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining and transactions.
The platform helps each crypto transaction to donate to verified carbon offset programmes through the United Nations Climate Neutral Now Initiative.
It was last year that the crypto market reached an all-time highs. However, it was also around this year when crypto philanthropy gained super traction.
With authorities, especially the Ukrainian government, launching an official website “Aid for Ukraine” to accept donations in crypto from around the world, crypto established itself as an efficient donation alternative. Following up the suit is the state of Louisiana which is considering to allow crypto donations for political campaigns.
Recently, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin too donated a total of 1500 ETH to Ukraine.
