Famous NFT collector “punk6529” unveiled the first city out of 10 self-governing cities in the alpha mode of the metaverse museum project named “OM”. With the display of 2000 NFTs, he affirmed that it might be “the most high-end art NFTs ever displayed in one place.”
In total, the prominent NFT collector wants to build 10 cities with a maximum population of 10 million each.
As per the release, the platform will be free, as creators don’t want to apply any fees or fetch money out of crowdfunding as they are planning to launch the product before any external investments.
The published teaser of OM shows a large number of NFTs from the top-notch NFT collections such as CryptoPunks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Art Blocks, and Tyler Hobbs’ Fidenza collection.
In Genesis City, currently, there are 2000 NFTs that have been displayed, which either belong to punk6529 or other team members. Furthermore, users can also set their NFTs in these digital art galleries.
“I do not want your ETH, I want your input on how to design OM. I collect in public, I invest in public and we are going to build OM in public together.”
“The fundamental governance model of OM is at the district level: Districts can either be ‘developed’ or ‘open’. 6529 is going to develop the 6529 Museum District for example. Others can develop others. Others can be free-for-all experimental spaces” states the release.
Furthermore, the museum district consists of 25 active buildings in the center square and other 2000 inactive buildings. Each building has a capacity to hold 1 to 100 citizens, which means this district can easily cover 100,000 citizens.
“This is not so shocking, humans have accomplished this before. There is not one human being in charge of: email, or HTML or TCP/IP or Bitcoin or ERC-721.”
To enhance and entice the mainstream audience, punk6529 affirmed that it will have to be affordable, user friendly, and connected with the real world to scale beyond “ETH/crypto degens.”
If everything turns out alright, OM will morph into a beta version around June or July. Before the beta launch, developers want to attract enough users and ensure that the tech is able to support further development and large spaces.
With the hype about digital art collections, museums and art galleries have become an essential part of curators to promote their collections to a wider audience. Amid the ongoing war with Russia, the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation revealed a memorable NFT collection ‘Meta History Museum of War’ to boost its crypto donation.
