The South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor is taking a huge step into the booming non-fungible tokens(NFTs) and metaverse space. The automaker announced its partnership with the NFT brand ‘Meta Kongz’ to enter an online community-based NFT market, the first of its kind.
In Brief:
- With the upcoming launch of the website, the firm launched its own Twitter handle and Discord server.
- The company will launch 30 limited editions of ‘Hyundai x Meta Kongz’ NFTs.
- Hyundai also produced a short movie that reflects its ‘Metamobility’ vision.
As per the announcement, the Hyundai NFT community will facilitate its users with NFTs that will reflect the mobility solutions in the metaverse. This will also establish the brand’s legacy in a rapidly emerging virtual space.
Along with the community NFT, the company will have a Hyundai NFT official website and channels on Discord and Twitter. Discord and Twitter have already been rolled out on April 15, while the website is still under development.
Apart from the announcement, the company has also launched a short film. The Kongz flew from the Earth to the Moon in PONY, an icon of personal mobility, reflecting the Metamobility worlds. The movie’s climax scene features a shooting star-shaped NFT,’ which will be released in May.
On April 20, Hyundai Motor will release 30 limited editions of ‘Hyundai x Meta Kongz’ NFTs to celebrate the movie launch.
The firm further indicated that throughout the year it will launch different NFT collections to expand the Hyundai NFT universe.
All the earnings from the NFT sale will be leveraged into the project’s management as well as for the community members.
“The Hyundai NFT universe will extend the Hyundai brand experience, especially with MZ generation, in a completely new way, further reinforcing our commitment to innovation in both the real world and in the metaverse,” said Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s Global Chief Marketing Officer.
“We are extremely excited to introduce ‘Metamobility’ through our own NFTs and start this journey with ‘Meta Kongz’.”
At CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas, Hyundai Chief Executive Euisun Chung revealed the company’s vision ‘Metamobility’ to develop a mobility network that can link real-world human beings with the virtual world or metaverse objects and tasks.
This futuristic commitment from the company covers the development of AI robots, devices, and space needed for the virtual world to link humans.
NFTs are becoming an alternative option for many automakers to interact with their consumers as well as to promote their brands. Recently, luxurious automobile company Lamborghini revealed an auction for the last Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae Coupé. In other ways, NFTs also help prominent automobile giants to maintain their legacy in virtual space too.
