Who would have thought Leonardo da Vinci’s strokes would paint the blocks of blockchain technology someday! The world now gets its first hologram NFT of verified Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece, La Bella Principessa, as Holoverse teams up with MakersPlace.
La Bella Principessa is a portrait of a young aristocrat from Milan adorned in classic renaissance style. As per the official blog, this 3D Hologram NFT(HNFT) will be auctioned on MakersPlace on April 21, 2022, with a starting bid of $100,000.
This HNFT will be available in digital and physical form. The original portrait is scanned into a multi-gigabyte photogrammetry picture that allows the viewer to zoom in to experience the intricate details of the work in a much better way.
The rare 1:1 hologram will be enclosed in a crystal case (73cm x 73cm x 12cm), which would be visible in day and night, and will be available with white-glove service to include the installation of the artwork.
In 1998, a portrait in pastel and chalk on vellum was brought to a pair of art scholars who after careful studying discovered that the artwork was a previously unknown work of Leonardo da Vinci.
La Bella Principessa which is also known as Portrait of Bianca Sforza is kept in cold storage and has only been showcased three times.
The NFT space has blessedly brought classical paintings dating back to renaissance times to the digital era. Thus, keeping both the NFT community and art patrons happy and gratified!
Recently, the father of Modern Indian Art, Raja Ravi Varma’s famous works were auctioned off as NFTs on RtistiQ drawing a thousand people from India, the UAE, Singapore, and the US.
