An upcoming Marathi film Sher Shivraj launched its trailer on the metaverse along with traditional digital platforms. This is the first time a Marathi film has launched a movie trailer in the metaverse.
The trailer was launched in the metaverse with the purpose of connecting with the country’s netizens.
Users can enter the metaverse through the platform called metawood.life, customize an avatar and even explore a fort to watch the trailer.
The makers of the film are also planning to launch digital collectibles and NFTs of the film, allowing fans to own virtual memorabilia of the film.
The movie depicts the clash between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Maharaj-Afzal Khan. The action-packed film is set to release on April 22.
The movie is directed by Digpal Lanjekar and produced by UFO – Cine Media Network.
The The Marathi film industry is following in the footsteps of the South Indian film industry., which has recently been utilizing NFTs and the metaverse for film marketing and promotions. The mega-famous film, KGF:Chapter 2 was also released in a metaverse experience for its fans. Users could make their virtual avatars and explore the world of the film’s hero, Rocky Bhai.
South superstar Prabhas also launched NFTs of his movie “Radhe Shyam”, whose trailer was also launched in the metaverse.
