The gaming startup, FlickPlay, has come together with the decentralized gaming platform–The Sandbox for its first NFT collection called “FlickyGang” to be introduced in the latter’s metaverse.
In Brief:
- 12,000 Flicky NFTs will be minted that can be used as a Sandbox avatar or voxel asset by users who acquire it.
- There will be FlickyHunt where users can capture a Flicky while exploring locations on the FlickMap.
- Voxel Flicky on The Sandbox can be sold as NFTs on OpenSea.
The collection FlickyGang includes 12,000 anthropomorphic chameleons named ‘Flicky’ dressed in various outfits, accessories, rarities, and atmospheres–available to mint in May.
Flicky can be used as a Sandbox avatar or voxel asset by users who acquire it. The collaboration pioneered the concept of interoperability across different metaverses–the ability to freely move between virtual worlds while using the same NFTs.
Out of the 12,000 Flicky, 200 will have special Sandbox traits that grant their owners a variety of top rewards in The Sandbox Game. The announcement provided a few examples of these rewards.
As a trait, 10 Flickys will possess a piece of Sandbox LAND, granting them access to a plot of LAND in The Sandbox. Also, Flicky will be Voxelized for the first 50 Flickys who wear the Sandbox Hoodie.
1102 Flickys have special traits tied to De Soi co-funded by Katy Perry that grant its holders exclusive rewards. While, 500 Flickys have a special sports trait tied to 11-time MLB All-Star Player Miguel Cabrera which grants its holders access to rewards.
A ‘FlickyHunt,’ in which users can capture a Flicky for free while exploring locations on the FlickMap, will also be available; participating cities will be announced later.
Moreover, NFT owners can use the FlickPlay app to claim their Voxel Flicky on The Sandbox, which will be stored in their metamask wallet, or they can sell these NFTs in OpenSea and other markets.
Flicky holders will get access to free NFT airdrops from exclusive partners and early access to future NFT drops through the FlickMap Feature and the FlickPlay Marketplace.
“In the next phase of the partnership, every Sandbox Assets will be able to be displayed in AR through FlickPlay, as well as giving access to all The Sandbox Collections to geolocate NFTs in the real world through FlickPlay map,” the announcement further read.
The Sandbox has been on top of the headlines after its announcement to partner up or acquire organizations that are creating “compelling metaverse experiences for users”.
Just yesterday, the Crypto Times reported on the gaming platform’s partnership with digital company Design Egg to bring its lovable character ‘Pat a Pat Como’ into the emerging metaverse space.
