The metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox revealed its partnership with nWay, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands to bring selected Apex Athletes NFTs into metaverse space with 3D avatars.
As per the announcement, The Shaun White, Nathan Chen, Chloe Kim, Lindsey Vonn, and Ayumu Hirano Apex Athletes NFTs will get their exclusive 3D avatars skin in The Sandbox.
Apex Athletes is the first-ever sports NFT collection on the Ethereum blockchain that celebrates the world’s notorious winter sports athletes.
The collection contains 2000 NFTs featuring 26 winter sports athletes. Each NFT will have images and videos from the athlete’s personal collection with some exclusive signed versions.
On April 21, a private sale will take place on Apex Athletes’ website, followed by a public sale on April 26. The minting price for private and public sales will be 0.05 ETH and 0.07 ETH respectively.
The selected Apex Athlete NFTs holders will be able to access 3D exclusive avatar skins in The Sandbox.
The Sandbox also mentioned ongoing talks with nWay to create an Apex Athletes winter park into their metaverse platform “where players can shred on the snowboard halfpipe or show off their quadruple axel jump in the ice skating rink.”
The Sandbox is continuously filling its metaverse space with different 3D guests and prominent projects. Recently, The Sandbox locked a deal with a gaming startup FlickPlay to introduce its first NFT collection named “FlickyGang” metaverse space.
