Online food delivery service Ele.me owned by Alibaba has announced the launch of its first NFTs. The NFTs will be launched with the Hangzhou Cuisine Museum.
The NFTs feature traditional Hangzhou dish cod meatballs. Users can claim these NFTs by uploading photos of traditional Hangzhou dishes.
To meet the demands of China’s banking and financial self-regulatory bodies, the NFTs will be non-transferable.
These NFTs are being released to promote the local food and culture and are a result of partnership between Ele.me and Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce.
Ele.me is one of the two food delivery partners of China. Ele.me’s opponent Meituan has yet not issued its own NFTs.
