An NFT collection focused on women empowerment Boss Beauties raised $4.4 million in a seed funding round led by Brit Morin and Randi Zuckerberg’s Offline Ventures. With this raised capital the women empowerment-themed project’s value has risen to $30 million.
Along with Offline Ventures, Serena Williams’ Serena Ventures and Anu Duggal’s Female Founders Fund also participated in the round. Boss Beauties plans on using the funds to convert the collection into media intellectual property (IP).
Boss Beauties is a collection of 10,000 digital portraits of women that the company intends to turn into media IP. The team behind the project is now working on ways to monetize the NFT portraits.
Lisa Mayer, Boss Beauties founder, has already begun to reach out to the team to feature the IP and leverage it together.
The collection has fetched a cumulative transaction volume of 14.6k ETH, $44.75 Million at current prices. It has about 5.6k owners, while the floor price is at 1.1 ETH.
Co-founder of the women’s crypto community BFF, Moris commented on the fundraising saying – “building authentic brands and communities in Web3 today will be the multi-billion-dollar, multi-channel brands of tomorrow.”
The global advertising agency Wieden-Kennedy which also participated in the seed fund round showed high hopes for the project. It pitched the idea that the project could pursue to monetize Boss Beauties including developing an animated TV series, licensing partnerships, brand deals, and toys.
Apart from that, Boss Beauties has recently launched BB DAO for Web3 utilities to give every holder a voice and to decide on the fund spending of the community wallet. All these initiatives collectively bring out the genuine efforts of the women-focused NFT projects to bring positive change to the NFT community.
