The hip-hop icon and top NFT influencer Snoop Dogg and his son Cordell Broadus aka Champ Medici are all set to introduce digital weed farms in the metaverse in the form of NFTs.
The duo is collaborating with MOBLAND to launch the digital weed farm NFTs. This will bring in a ‘grow-to-earn’ feature, as well as a variety of other business and land-related utilities.
Broadus encouraged Snoop to collaborate with MOBLAND. “There is a paradigm shift happening here and I want to be at the forefront of this,” Snoop noted.
Broadus stated, “I saw my father play video games my whole life. Cannabis and game controllers live hand in hand with him, that’s why I think it’s no brainer to bring the metaverse and digital weed together.”
MOBLAND will also release a limited collection of Snoop Dogg branded digital weed farm NFTs as well as some unique content from Champ Medici as part of the deal.
The digital weed farms, according to MOBLAND co-founder Roy Liu, are part of the third generation of NFTs. He noted “NFT 1.0 is about individual character and item, NFT 2.0 is about land and real estate, NFT 3.0 is about business and utility on top of the land and real estate.”
Often dubbed to as the ‘crypto-version’ of Mafia Wars, MOBLAND is a mafia-themed metaverse backed by Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon, Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, and Animoca Brands.
This is not the first time the father and son duo has partnered on an NFT project. At the beginning of this month, Snoop Dogg joined the Cardano-based NFT project ‘Clay Mates’ NFT along with Broadus which launched on April 10th. The project dropped an NFT collection along with an exclusive map area called Clay Nation clayverse.
