A web3 startup Afterparty has raised over $4 Million after investment by Paris Hilton. Celebrities like NBA star Andre Iguodala, Desiree Gruber and Jason Calacanis are the startup’s angel investors. This new funding brings the company’s total to $7 Million.
Other investors include big names like Zillow co-founder Spencer Rascoff and Nicole Farb of VC Firm Headline. The seed investors Acrew Capital, Blockchange and TenOneTen Ventures also participated in the funding round.
Afterparty is a futuristic event organiser and ticketer. It is a community which focuses on NFTs and they have numerous famous holders like music icon Sia, Heidi Klum, David Dobrik, Loren Gray and Josh Duhamel.
Afterparty organised the world’s first NFT ticketed music event in March this year in Las Vegas. The NFT ticket collection was named Utopians and this collection had NFTs ranging from 5.35 ETH TO 50 ETH.
Afterparty is planning to launch its second collection ‘The Guardians’. It will launch sometime in May according to an interview of founder David Fields. This collection will drop on Polygon.
Afterparty has teamed with MoonPay to offer credit card payments at its next event, which will be held in Los Angeles in October. This step will assist those who do not have cryptocurrency wallets and wish to pay for their Guardians NFTs with fiat currency.
Afterparty aims to make people realise the full potential of the NFT marketplace. It is planning to focus more on becoming a dedicated NFT ticketing platform.
