Former professional football player, David Beckham is planning to enter the metaverse. The footballer has filed applications for three trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office(USPTO).
The applications were filed on April 19 and announced to Twitter by Washington DC based trademark attorney Michael Kondoudis.
The trademarks hint at plans for NFTs and digital tokens in one application. Another application hints at plans for virtual clothing, virtual footwear and virtual headgear. The last application is for virtual performances and metaverse events.
The trademark application serial number is 97369672 and has been filed by DB Ventures Limited.
David Beckham is however not new to the metaverse and was announced the global ambassador of the layer-one blockchain protocol, DigitalBits just a few weeks ago. The celebrated player will also release NFTs and digital assets on DigitalBit’s eco-friendly blockchain.
