The Twitter account of Stani Kulechov, the founder of Aave is banned by the social media platform for allegedly tweeting misinformation.
“BREAKING: Joining Twitter as interim CEO,” states the tweet posted on April 27th, which can no longer be accessible because Kulechov’s account is no longer available.
Kulechov pinned the tweet, and he also sent a follow-up tweet thanking Tesla CEO Elon Musk, whose recent offer of $44 billion to buy Twitter was accepted by the platform.
“Thank you @elonmusk for the opportunity to work at Twitter. My first agenda is the roadmap for 90 days: Ship edit button by next week, Open-source the Twitter algorithms, Add support for Ethereum & ENS, Integrate with @LensProtocol,” he tweeted.
According to Twitter rules, Kulechov will not be allowed to create new accounts because his account has been suspended indefinitely. Kulechov has not yet stated whether he intends to appeal.
Many members of the crypto community defended Kulechov, arguing that Twitter had treated him unfairly. Musk’s Twitter is all about freedom of expression, but it seems like there is no place for misinformation on the platform.
Many, on the other hand, saw the incident as a clumsy attempt to bolster his resume. At the time of writing, AAVE was trading at $172.77, up 2.99 percent in the previous 24 hours.
Just last month, Aave launched its Aave v3 on 6 networks with new features that make it superior to older versions and competitors. The new update enables features such as cross-chain transactions, higher borrowing limits, reduced gas costs by 20 to 25%, etc.
