The Seychelles-based popular cryptocurrency exchange OKX has struck a deal with F1 McLaren Racing and has become the official main partner of the Formula 1 team.
OKX has signed a multi-year partnership with Formula 1’s second-most successful team McLaren Racing. Under this deal, the exchange will serve as the Official Primary Partner of the squad, meaning that OKX will become the largest sponsor of McLaren Racing.
The partnership will bring numerous cryptocurrency opportunities to F1 fans. During the 2022 Miami Grand Prix (May 8), OKX’s symbol will be carried on the rear wing, mirrors, cockpit side, front wing, nose, and inner halo of McLaren MCL36 F1 cars.
Moreover, Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris (the team’s drivers) will wear the exchange’s initials on their helmets and suits.
OKX Chief Marketing Officer Haider Rafique said “ We choose partners on the basis we can provide users and fans with meaningful experiences; we aren’t simply about brand exposure.” He added, “We want to invest in fans as well as partners and lay a strong foundation for long-term future partnerships.”
The deal comes just after OKX’s competitor Crypto.com announced its collaboration with Formula 1 to become the official title partner of the new Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix.
McLaren isn’t new to the crypto world. Last week, the formidable track car company McLaren Automotive launched a Web3 platform which is an extension of its customization division, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) Lab. Following this, the first McLaren NFT series “Genesis Collection” will drop on 11th May.
