Globally renowned photographer Anne Geddes makes NFT debut by turning her iconic imagery into digital artwork. She is known for her elaborately-staged photographs of infants, and her soon to be released Mother’s Day 2022 NFT collection is no exception.
The Collection is scheduled to be launched on May 6, 2022, at 9 a.m. PT, commemorating Mother’s Day. The NFT collection contains nine selections made available in a variety of format configurations.
Her highly anticipated NFTs will be sold exclusively via the certified carbon-neutral blockchain marketplace WAX and powered by the Shopify app Waxify. The artworks will be available for purchase in FIAT (USD) through PayPal, credit card, and other traditional payments as well as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and of course WAXP.
All nine images in the Mother’s Day collection are minted as digital art prints which can be “redeemed” for a corresponding physical 8×10” print.
These nine images from the collection make up the “Signature Series”. Only 20 of each print will be available for a total of 180 prints.
Two pictures from the series will be offered as one-of-a-kind digital and physical prints in a limited edition. Each image will come with a signed physical print and a validated original digital signature.
These NFTs also include a video of Anne describing each photograph in the collection. Moreover, all digital and physical prints will be made only for this launch and can not be reproduced in this manner again.
Anne will soon auction off a one-of-a-kind private photoshoot at her New York Studio to raise funds for Ukrainian mothers and children. A commemorative NFT to benefit Ukrainian children will be sold in the gallery to help raise more funds. The proceeds will go to The American Red Cross.
Buyers can pre-register for the sale at annnegeddes.io with a pre-sale beginning a day prior on May 5, 2022, at 9 a.m. PT.
This is not the first time when artists are turning their photographs into digital artworks. Influential NFT artist Livia Elektra also combined her passion for photography with NFTs, inspiring budding creators.
It’s fair to say, photographers are embracing the NFT culture to showcase their talents. Last month, popular NFT photographer Justin Aversano announced his plans to open a physical NFT gallery in Santa Monica.
