Automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor is soon to launch its first exclusive Metamobility NFT collection, “Shooting Star” via its official NFT website on May 9-10. The “Shooting Star” collection comes hot on the heels of Hyundai Motor declaring it would become the first automaker to build a global NFT community.
The company launched dedicated channels on Discord and Twitter, as well as an official website on May 2 to form an online NFT community. Both the channels have attracted 127,000 and 86,000 members on Discord and Twitter respectively. On May 9-10, Hyundai will sell Ethereum-based 10,000 “Shooting Star” NFTs on its official NFT website.
On May 9, Hyundai will be conducting an NFT community event to whitelist some of the participants who will then take part in the pre-sale. The general sale will be on May 10.
The sale of NFT in the form of a shooting star will be followed by the latest short film, of ‘Hyundai x Meta Kongz’, which ends with ‘Kongz’ finding a shooting star stuck in a Hyundai Pony windshield wiper.
Hyundai Motor’s Metamobility NFT applies the ‘Reveal’ method, showing a placeholder image first, and then revealing the actual individual NFTs later. In other words, the 10,000 placeholder ‘Shooting Star’ NFTs will transform into one-of-a-kind Metamobility NFTs in various shapes by late May.
With this, Hyundai Motor is expanding the brand experience into the ‘Metamobility Universe’, creating new opportunities for the NFT community.
Thomas Schemera, Hyundai Motor’s Global Chief Marketing Officer and Head of the Customer Experience Division revealed the future plans saying – “The company will launch more unique NFTs based on the ‘Metamobility Universe’ concept and introduce more member benefits to expand the community going forward.”
While NFTs and the metaverse craze are on the rise, Automobile makers Toyota and Nissan also have stepped into the metaverse to offer virtual experiences to their users, organize digital events, and build virtual customer service offers.
