The crypto exchange giant and blockchain infrastructure provider Binance revealed its sponsorship for Brasileirão, a major football tournament in Brazil organized by Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF).
As per the announcement, Binance will play a role as an “exclusive crypto sponsor” for the Brasileirão Assaí, Brasileirão Female Neoenergia, Brasileirão Female A-2, and Brasileirão Female A-3.
In the three years long partnership, Binance will aim the association of Binance’s brand with these tournaments. Apart from this, Binance will also develop Fan tokens and non-fungible tokens to serve more interactivity and benefits to crypto with these tournaments.
“The industry has been changing constantly in the digital and tech ecosystem. The fans of the Country of Football are already participating in the fan tokens and NFTs world; and, in this scenario, it’s a great and innovative step to have these competitions”, says CBF’s Marketing and Commercial Director, Lorenzo Perales.
“Sport is an important driver for inclusion in society. With football being strongly linked to Brazilian identity and culture, our partnership with CBF is important to help expand crypto adoption and generate positive impact for our users, the crypto and blockchain community, and society as a whole in Brazil” says CZ, Binance CEO and Founder.
In March, Binance signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore the acquisition of the Brazilian brokerage Simpaul Investimentos to develop the Brazilian market. Simpaul Investimentos is a Brazilian exchange acquired by Brazil’s Central Bank and Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM).
However, this is not the first time that Binance is sponsoring any Brazilian sports tournaments. It has already locked a deal for the Paulistão Sicredi and Santos Futebol Clube.
The deal is part of Binance’s global campaign to expand the crypto space by appearing at major sports events such as the African Cup of Nations. The company is also backing European football teams Porto (Portugal) and Lazio (Italy).
Recently, Binance extended its alliance with the AFA for 5 Years by signing its first sponsorship agreement.
