The internet company based in China listed on Nasdaq, The9 (NCTY) announced on Wednesday that it has purchased a data center in Kyrgyzstan and plans to install 7,500 Bitmain Antminer S19j Bitcoin mining rigs.
The data center is owned by The9’s wholly-owned subsidiary NBTC and Kyrgyzstan based firm SolarCoin. It will be powered by 31.5 megawatts (MW) and will provide 675 petahash/second of computing power.

The company is expecting the development to finish by July and electricity to cost $0.05 per kilowatt (KW) hour. According to the agreement,, The9 is going to gain the ownership of 31.5 MW of transformers, together with their supporting low-voltage equipment, plant, network equipment, and the right to utilize the facility’s high-voltage equipment and land.
