The American crypto exchange platform, Coinbase has launched a new feature that allows users to access Ethereum-based dapps from the Coinbase mobile app.
Ethereum based dapps include NFT marketplaces such as Coinbase NFT, Decentralized exchanges such as Sushiswap and Uniswap and even DeFi platforms such as Curve and Compound.
“This move by Coinbase has the potential to give a new wave of users the chance to explore the frontier of DeFi and NFTs,” said Andrew Thurman of blockchain analytics firm Nansen.
Coinbase has made this feature possible by allowing each user to have a dedicated on-chain wallet, whose ‘key’ is split between the user and Coinbase.
This dapp wallet is built using a Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology and can be recovered through the live support of Coinbase in case a user loses his device.

The dapp wallet and dapp browsing feature is still in its testing period and has been rolled out to only a few Android users across the U.S.
Coinbase plans to expand this feature to its global customer base soon.
