One of the most famous crypto security solutions company, Ledger just announced that it will be adding an extension called ‘Ledger Connect’ to the Safari browser for iOS users.
The famous French start-up Ledger has made their hardware wallet compatible with iOS devices. The “Ledger Connect” extension will be added to the Safari mobile browser and the chance to sign on for the beta version is already open.
With Ledger Connect, users will be able to connect with Web3 applications from anywhere with their Ledger Nano X. The firm claims that this extension will prevent hacking, scams and keep user’s crypto and NFT protected.
It will also eradicate the need to depend on a third-party wallet to step into Web3. Moreover, it is the first ever browser extension that has been designed from the outside to connect with a Ledger hardware wallet.
Ledger also said that the extension will soon be compatible with Ledger Nano S Plus and the desktop browser too. Ledger will support Ethereum and Solana throughout its beta launch and afterwards it will be branching out to other protocols, as per the company’s blog post.
Just recently, Ledger announced the launch of Ledger Live App V3.1 too. It is safe to say that the firm is determined to make it easy for users to experience web3.
The VP of product, Charles Hamel said that the development is meant to smoothen up the process of setting up a wallet for users, since it connects one’s wallet seamlessly to a browser with “no hackable software in the middle”.
