The upcoming movie based on Muhammad Ali’s visit to Tyneside in 1977, starring Nicholas Pinnock, ‘A God Amongst Men’ will launch an NFT collection by Studio Pictures and director James Newton.
The NFT collection, built in a collaboration with the popular British comic artist, is set to launch by the end of July 2022. It is going to showcase 11 hand-drawn cartoon sketches which will be based upon the characters from the film dubbed ‘The Skidz’.
Unique and rare features will be unveiled after all the NFTs sell out, as per Studio Pictures.
Each NFT will feature a “unique physical perk” affiliated to the film production, like a chance to visit the set, get limited edition items, or attend the cast and crew premiere.
This drop will assist the producers to be able to build a fanbase early on, that will be able to interact in shared 3D environments with their own NFT collectibles. Pre-production will start in August, with filming completing by the end of 2022.
Newton said “The potential for NFTs to completely change the landscape of film marketing is here. Filmmakers need to wake up to the seismic shift that has been happening with NFT assets over the last year. NFTs are game-changing for indie filmmakers.”
“We can now build a community and an audience for our film before we have shot a single frame and that same audience will be part of our journey from day one,” he added.
Samahoma Media Advisors has raised funding to create the NFT collection via the Insight Media Fund.
“Properly planned and executed, with strong creativity harnessing their potential for connectivity, NFTs offer multiple ways to elevate the relationship between super-fan audiences and the music, movies, new literature and other arts and entertainment they love,” said Samahoma Media Advisors CEO, Bob Clarke.
This is not the first time that an NFT collection is dropping prior to a film’s release. Recently, prior to the release of Marvel’s Dr.Strange, Marvel announced ‘Eye of Agamotto’ NFT Drop to promote the film.
