An NFT company Zelus has partnered with Heritage Auctions to auction the original album cover painting from Tupac Shakur’s posthumous album ‘The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory.’
The album, also known as The Makaveli, features Tupac Shakur crucified on a cross on its cover. The cover was created by artist Riskie Forever.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson, whose NFTs were dropped previously, said “Having the opportunity to honor Pac and have this painting here with us was awesome. It’s by far the most iconic hip hop album artwork of all time,” about an upcoming podcast episode of ‘Hotboxin’ w/ Mike Tyson’.
The auction will be live from June 18 with an opening bid of $125,000. The album cover NFT will be accompanied by a 1-of-1 NFT which features a never-before-heard story about origins of the piece.
Fans of Tupac will also be able to participate in a sweepstake based on the final auction sale price. Fans who sign up for a Zelus wallet from now until June 5, will automatically enter the sweepstake and receive one free NFT.
The winner of the sweepstake will receive 10% (upto $100k) of the final auction sale price. The minimum price which the winner might receive is $25k, along with a 1/1 Collectible Gold NFT regardless of the amount won.
Another 50 entrants of the sweepstake will win up to $500 each and a Collectible Chrome NFT, and a 100 entrants up to $250 each with a Collectible NFT.
The winners will receive their rewards in USDC in their Zelus wallets.
