The Hall of Famer and business magnate, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, has been added to the list of influential basketball players who have their first NBA NFTs. Magic Johnson Jr. has collaborated with Dapper Labs’ NBA Top Shot for the marketplace’s first-of-its-kind Anthology.
The 1600 NFT packs of “The Anthology: Magic Johnson” will drop on June 7th at 3 pm ET.
The former president of NBA’s Lakers will be featured in 4 Anthology Moments, each containing 1 Magic Moment NFT from either the Rare or Legendary tier.
They are:
- Never Fear, E.J. Is Here – Memorializing the championship-winning performance of the 1980 NBA Finals with 80 NFTs.
- Now You See It, Now You Don’t – One of his signature highlights with 85 minted on the NBA Top Shot’s Flow blockchain.
- Hocus Pocus Pass – This Rare assist Moment will only have 499 NFTs from Magic Johnson’s final 1987-88 Championship season.
- Game. Set. Magic- The first matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics minting only 999 NFTs.
Magic Johnson took Twitter to announce the launch, saying, “I’m really excited to partner with [NBA Top Shot] to release my first NFTs and bring some of my favorite Moments from my career to fans everywhere. Fans get to see just a few of my favorite plays from my career!”
The 1600 NFT packs are priced at $399 each and additionally, those that meet the Top Shot score requirement of 150,000 + can enter the priority queue, giving access to 1,200 packs. The remaining 400 packs go to the general queue.
Magic Johnson follows in the footsteps of other sports legends in immortalizing iconic sporting moments in digital history.

Not just this, though.
A 5th Anthology Moment will be released featuring the iconic Baby Hook from the 1987 NBA Finals in the Legendary tier limited to 32 NFTs in honor of Magic Johnson’s jersey number. Magic’s 6th Moment will be released in the Rare tier featuring the historic 1986-87 season.
