Rarible Protocol, an open-source and multi-chain NFT protocol, made an announcement on May 24th that it is partnering with Immutable X’s layer-2 scaling solution on Ethereum.
This partnership will permit projects building on the protocol to straight away trade high-quality gaming NFTs on Ethereum via Immutable X, without applying any gas fees or negatively impacting the environment.
Rarible Protocol offers NFT builders to access a decentralized exchange, NFT minting and smart contracts. It also offers an open-source NFT indexer supportable with Ethereum, Tezos, Flow, Polygon, and Solana which allows creators or even projects to drop NFT marketplaces.
Rarible has said that it’s on a mission to provide its increasing community the best NFT gaming experiences, and therefore it has chosen to collaborate with Immutable X’s L2 scaling solution. Immutable X was created using Immutable’s expertise in blockchain gaming and StarkWare’s latest zk-rollup technology.
As a result, this partnership will give an opportunity for gaming NFT projects and collectibles to drop within Rarible’s ecosystem seamlessly while leveraging Immutable X’s low cost as well as carbon-neutral economy.
Users will also be enabled to enjoy the high speed transactions along with Ethereum’s security.
“Rarible’s integration with Immutable X marks a significant milestone in our roadmap to become the leading multi-chain NFT marketplace and protocol offering enhanced interoperability across NFT communities. We are thrilled to now be able to offer the Rarible community access to the many thriving collections and projects across the Immutable X ecosystem,” said the co-founder of Rarible, Alex Salnikov.
One of the chief pros of this integration is Rarible’s ability to access Immutable X’s open orderbook, which means that developers creating on Rarible Protocol and Rarible NFT marketplace can access existing as well as future content powered by Immutable X.
In the long run, the collaboration is expected to ultimately enhance liquidity for Rarible’s ecosystem.
“Every game and trade on Immutable will now be accessible to Rarible’s million monthly users. This is a landmark step for Immutable’s open order book and I could not be more thrilled to work with the Rarible team in enabling the world to trade gaming assets and more on L2 Ethereum,” the Co-Founder of Immutable, Robbie Ferguson said.
The gaming community is exploring the NFT space and firms are trying to join the bandwagon as soon as possible. Just a few months ago the video game giant GameStop partnered with Immutable X to launch NFT marketplace.
