The UK based Dental Design Studio (DDS) has bought land in the Sandbox to open up a dentistry in the metaverse. The British dental chain has 15 physical locations across the UK and now it has one in the metaverse.
By virtue of the marketing reach and constant innovations of the metaverse, comes a new business venture foraying into this digital world.
The dental chain plans to create a dental metaverse where patients can sit in a dentist chair, get a consultation, enjoy virtual treatments, talk to the staff, and watch dental hygiene videos.
DDS also plans to create interactive mirror images of its surgeries in the virtual dentistry. It can also be used to deliver dental courses and lectures online.
Moreover using the metaverse, regional surgeries can now attract international audiences, says DDS.
“At The Dental Design Studio, we have always been interested in technology and have tried to innovate in any area that will benefit our patients. Very nervous patients and children can now see what the dentist is like from the comfort of their own homes, preparing them for a future visit,” said Dr. Jeff Sherer, the co-founder of DDS.
Dr.Sherer also believes that virtual reality will be increasingly beneficial for dentists by being able to create brand awareness and advertising opportunities.
He also mentions that dentists can offer NFTs in the metaverse, which the patients can redeem for “perks in the real world such as free access to dental hygienists, or future perks in the Metaverse like avatar accessories, price discounts or Loyalty cards.”
Phobic patients can take a virtual tour of the practice and learn more about dentistry before physically visiting a dentist, which will help them ease their fears.
