Rapper-designer Kanye West has filed for 17 NFT and Metaverse related trademark applications for his Yeezus brand.
Josh Gerben is a trademark attorney and was the first to notice and point out these trademark applications.
One of these applications is for ‘blockchain-based currencies’ and ‘non-fungible tokens’, indicating the possibility of upcoming Yeezus NFTs or tokens.
Another application is for ‘physical and online retail stores’, again indicating the possibility of the entry of Yeezus into the metaverse.
These applications were filed on May 27 by Mascotte Holdings, the company owned by Kanye West.
Other applications in the filing are for campaign buttons, clothing and bags, cosmetics, household items, and toys, games and sporting equipment.
One application is even for an amusement park.
These application filings come a few months after Kanye instagrammed a post saying, “STOP ASKING ME TO DO NFT’s I’M NOT FINNA CO-SIGN.”
The rapper said he was then focused on ‘building real products in the real world, real food, real clothes, and real shelter.’
However he cleverly shared another image which said “Do not ask me to do a F-ing NFT, Ask me later.”
Seems like the ‘later’ has arrived.
