Two veteran executives are leaving Binance Labs, the investing arm of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.
Bill Qian, Head of Binance Labs, is expected to leave the company soon. Nicole Zhang, Binance Labs’ former executive director, resigned in a similar manner last month. Binance Labs has employed both execs for more than two years.
Qian’s departure was verified by a Binance representative, who said, “We don’t comment on people’s moves at Binance as a matter of policy. However, we can confirm that Bill is leaving Binance for personal reasons.”
The departures of Qian and Zhang happen as Binance Labs raises $500 million from outside investors in its first fund, which will be invested in projects that drive the adoption of Web3 and blockchain technologies.
