For the first time ever, a UK radio brand called Global released NFTs in partnership with the NFT platform OneOf. The NFTs marked the return of Capital’s Summertime Ball, after a hiatus of three years.
The NFTs of the event feature a digital lanyard with the official line-up of the music stars (including Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, George Ezra and more) performing at the Ball on June 12.
Cilesta Van Doorn, Chief Marketing Officer at Global, said “Collecting venue ticket stubs and programmes is very much part of the music fan experience when you’re at a live event, so we are thrilled to be able to move the fan experience into the metaverse by creating digital memorabilia.”
“The NFT digital lanyard is the perfect way to capture the full event experience, making it accessible to all.”
The limited edition NFT collection was dropped on June 9, starting at a price of £10. The collection featured three tiers:
- Classic Gold Tier which included an unique NFT.
- Exclusive Platinum Tier which included an unique NFT and 2 Golden Circle (standing) tickets to the Ball in 2023.
- Super Exclusive Diamond Tier which included an unique NFT and 4 Level 1 (seated) tickets to the Ball in 2023.
“Enabling Capital’s listeners an easy platform to onboard into web3 and buy their first NFT without the need of a cryptocurrency wallet is core to our mission of onboarding 100 million new people into NFTs,” said Mark Lyn, the VP of OneOf Special Projects.
