Boxing legend and Senator of the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao has entered the NFT ‘ring’ with the announcement of ‘Pacman the Jack Russell’ NFT collection.
Pacquiao announced the launch of his NFT collection on Instagram. The digital artwork ‘Pacman the Jack Russell’ is unveiled in the memory of his beloved dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named “Pacman”. His cherished dog was adopted in 2014 and passed away in 2020.
Pacquiao wrote on Instagram, “I am excited to unveil the first NFT of my “Pacman the Jack Russell” collection #Pacmanthejackrusselseries,” and shared a photo of the boxer NFT.
The NFT collection is made up of 9,999 unique Boxer NFTs created algorithmically from over 200 carefully hand-drawn and distinct attributes. Each NFT represents visual characteristics, as well as skill based features including strength and stamina.
The website reveals that all ‘Boxers’ in the NFT collection come from one of the three tiers. The boxers will compete with another boxers from the same tier for belts, crypto rewards and honours. Holding assets from each tier will unlock both digital and physical perks.
Thus, real world utilities like redeemable stuff such as signed merchandise, event tickets, and exclusive access to very special occasions, will be given out twice a year.
The three exciting tiers include:
- There are 7000 NFTs of rookie boxers with basic common attributes available in Tier3. If one collects ‘eight Tier3 NFTs’, one will get a chance to receive merchandise signed by Manny Pacquiao himself and the merch will be sent to any international address.
- Tier2 of the Boxing League will have 2,900 mid level Boxers with semi-rare features and improved skills, with more experience than the Tier 3 boxers. By collecting ‘four Tier2 assets’ one can get access to exclusive tickets for premier sporting events and private themed parties around the globe.
- Lastly, 99 elite NFTs belong to the Tier1. The top ranked boxers, with the rarest of attributes and highest level of skill comprise Tier1. As Tier1 boxers are the most unique ones, they will also unlock the best rewards and real world benefits. Thus, collect ‘two Tier1 assets’ and one can meet face to face the legend himself, Manny Pacquiao!
The proceeds from NFT Collection will help gain funds for Pacquiao’s Foundation to help the Ukrainian refugees.
As NFTs continue to go the mainstream route, celebs are thronging to this new obsession and trying to make a statement with their ‘rare’ NFTs!
