The comic giant Marvel has submitted 3 trademark applications teasing plans for branded merchandise. According to Mike Kondoudis, a famous USPTO registered metaverse attorney, this indicates that a metaverse video game for Marvel’s ‘What if…?’ could be on the horizon.
The filing of the 3 applications hinted at plans for ‘What if…?’ branded:
- Clothing, footwear + headwear
- Publications, books + “printed matter”
- Digital media + video games
The application included trademarks for digital media as well as consumer electronics and accessories such as eyeglasses, sunglasses and accessories. It also showcased plans for decorative magnets, microphones, helmets, flotation vests, protective face masks, snorkels, swimming goggles and swim masks.
It also included printed matter like publications, books and photographs. Moreover the application was for portraits, paintings, photo-engravings, stationery, office and school supplies, temporary tattoo transfers and more.
Apart from all that clothing, footwear and headwear was included too.
This might hint a Metaverse game for Marvel studio’s ‘What if…?’
The Metaverse is constantly developing and there are many prominent firms which are introducing new and improved games. These firms are getting tremendous support too, just last month America’s A16z announced a $600M fund for games and Metaverse.
